

Environmentally clean waters offer wonderful opportunities for fishing perch, pikes and event trouts. There is a rowing boat and fishing rod available for the tenants. The surrounding grounds also offer possibility for picking berries and mushrooms. The boat dock at Tehi nearby offers waterways to the passenger ships. The sand beaches at the Tehiniemi with campfire huts and beach volley courts are also located at the same bay. During the winter, it is possible to use the snowmobile routes in the neighbourhood.
The municipal of Kuhmoinen situated by the lake Päijänne is a part of the subregion of Jämsä and it is the central province of Finland’s southernmost municipality. Previously the municipality was a part of Päijät-Häme region. People have been moving around the Kuhmoinen region already for thousands of years, which is testified by the rock paintings and other relics found from the area. In Päijälä, Kuhmoinen there is an archaeologically important Linnavuori, which means a defence equipment build on a top of a high and steep hill, during the Iron Age. From Papinsaari, Kuhmoinen, some medieval relics have been excavated, for example, the Cocks of Kuhmoinen were found there. Today those figures can be seen in the design of Kalevala jewellery.
Himos ski resort is located only 50 km away from Kuhmoinen. Monthly events are held there. In wintertime, you can enjoy challenging competitions and slopes. During summer, Himos offers golf courts and even rock concerts. The golf courts at Himos Hillside courts offer challenges for even the experienced golfers.
